Vivid Sydney 2013

Vivid 2013. It had been a long time between posts, I have been super busy. This is myself and Clinton Weaver a fellow Artist and Architect's proposal for Vivid 2013. It is titled 'Field of Colour'. “A subject is present, not by virtue of its absence, but actually present,, though its appearance is torn away, and only the structure bared.” Robert Motherwell The work derives from the conversation of scale, form, movement and presence. The colour forms the structure itself being both a frame and a lens. The unique context calls for an engagement that interacts both with the large monuments being the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, the natural and human formed landscape of the harbour, the geometry of Circular Quay and the experience of the body in space .

sculpture featured in boston.com

This was part of a photographic essay looking at the environmental changes the coastal regions of the world are undergoing due to climate change. Quote from boston.com below.

"We humans are drawn to the shore, with some 40% of the world's population living within 100 kilometers of a coast. Coastal areas have made recent news with the arrival of several storms, concerns about rising sea levels and other environmental and conservation efforts. Collected here are a handful of photographs from around the world of people and animals at the shoreline, playing, working, struggling or relaxing on the border between land and sea."
